UC Davis Wineserver
The Department of Viticulture and Enology at the University of California at Davis is a leading academic institution for everything related to growing, making, and marketing wine. Their web site offers a wealth of information about these issues.
Researchers from UC Davis were instrumental in proving the Croatian heritage of the Zinfandel. Today, they are actively resurrecting the almost extinct parent grape, Crljenak kaštelanski in cooperation with their colleagues from the University of Zagreb.
Of interest is also the Extension Program at UC Davis offering classes for adults on a wide variety of wine related topics. The motto could be: wine know-how made practical!
