A blend of 90% Zweigelt and 10% Blaufränkisch, this gently oak-aged red is a great companion to any dish of grilled or roasted fish and meat. The grapes are grown from old vines in the Siglos vineyard hence the name "Siglos".
J.Heinrich is a top estate in the heart of Burgenland, the center of Austrian red wine production. The Siglos is one of their signature wines. Drinking it you will experience all three native Austrian red grape varietals in a single swoop: Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, and St. Laurent, since Zweigelt is itself a cross of the last two grapes. Siglos nicely represents what the Austrians call "Trinkfluss", or the flow of drink making you want to have a second glass. |
