All fruit comes from the organically farmed Rosensteig vineyard. Aromatically it is quite ripe, peach and pineapple with delicate blossom and mint notes that hint at the East. By smelling one would expect a rich wine and it is indeed a sumptuous. However along with loads of texture comes a mouth watering riesling-esque acidity.
Geyerhof has begun bottling their wines under screw cap (excellent choice), but their wines benefit from aeration so open them ahead of time for best results. Also, don’t be afraid to open a bottle and have just a glass the wine will hold in the fridge for up to 3 days. |
