This organic vineyard is not the most prestigious that Geyerhof farms, but it is one of the most consistent, making it prestigious in its own right. Vintage to vintage the wines are always medium weight, vibrant and dynamic, with an exotic multi-dimensional fruit fragrance that never dulls. The 2008 is slightly lighter than the 07 yet just as intense. Somehow it also seems more transparent in character and shows considerably more minerality. Ideal for those that enjoy expressive wines with low alcohol.
Geyerhof has begun bottling their wines under screw cap (excellent choice), but their wines benefit from aeration so open them ahead of time for best results. Also, don’t be afraid to open a bottle and have just a glass the wine will hold in the fridge for up to 3 days. |
