Only in the best years Ivan Batič produces his "house" blend and calls the result "Rosso". It's as simple as that, but make no mistake, this is a serious - almost voluptuous - cuvee of a selection of his very best Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc fruit. Matured for more than 12 months in local Slovenian barrels it will age gracefully for another decade or more. But it is so drinkable now that it's hard to resist to pop a cork once in a while and follow the maturation process with an ongoing "tasting experiment".
Highly recommended, in particular if you want to get a good idea what a superbly produced organic wine can taste like. |
