| Usually a Gruener Veltliner Federspiel from the Wachau is drunk within a couple of years. Unlike their bigger cousins the Smaragd, a Federspiel has lower alcohol and is not made to be cellared for too long. This one from the 1999 vintage might not be in his prime but since it is produced bio-organically by the renowned Nikolaihof, an estate that is known to make very age worthy wines it still holds up fine and at this low price is a great value. |
