This is the first ever Kékfrankos we have imported and it's a real stunner! It comes from the Sopron region in Hungary which traditionally has been Kékfrankosland and is now undergoing a revival.
The Pfneiszl estate is owned and managed by sisters Birgit and Katrin and is currently transitioning to a completely organic winery. The 2007 is now the second vintage we've been importing.
This one is much more elegant when compared to the previous 2006 vintage with its long Indian summer. Both vintages have excellent fruit, a nice bite, and complex savage flavors. Since its first arrival in Mid May this Kékfrankos has become a real crowd pleaser. Give it a try, you will like it. |
