This 2008 Olaszrizling (AKA Welschriesling or Italian Riesling) comes from vines located around the villages of Vokany and Nagyharsany on bound loam soils in the DHC - Villány. The vines are an average of 25 years of age. The summer was moderate with good rainfall, while harvest was supported by beautiful sunny weather. The grapes were harvested mid August, pressed and cool fermented in stainless steel, then bottled fresh with no barrel aging. The wine is lemony clean and hydrating, nothing to fuss over, just to enjoy. Serve with salted nuts as a cocktail or with arugula salad and cold chicken for a light meal. |
