On the beautiful mountainous peninsula of Pelješac, just outside the ancient town of Ston, you'll find a true artisan producer, Frano Miloš. The land is blessed with very old dolomite limestone bedrock with sand to protect from disease. Plavac Mali is the king in this land and is a cross between the original Zinfandel (Crljenak) and Dobričić grapes. Miloš has some of the best positions on the peninsula with steep sloping vineyards looking down on the seaside.
Garnet color with a salmon edge. Nose of red roses, autumn floor, mushrooms, and earth give way to red fruits and well rounded tannins. Frano oversees a contientious simple vinification with natural yeasts, and 12 months in neutral Slavonian oak followed by 24 months bottle aging before release.
