Batič - Cabernet Franc - 2008

If you always wanted to try the "other" Cab besides a Cabernet Sauvignon, try this Cabernet Franc from the excellent Slovenian producer Batič. You will not be disappointed. A big wine that goes best with a big steak.

100% Cabernet Franc grapes, harvested in September 2008, fermented in its own yeast, fully organic and biodynamic wine, maceration of 15 days and aged 12 months in Slovenian oak barrels and another six months in the bottle. Ruby red color with purple undertones with a complex bouquet and aromas of fruit, bread crust, coffee and dark chocolate and a touch of spices. Full bodied wine with velvety tannins and well balanced acidity. Recommended decanting: 1 hour. Aging potential till 2020.
