Our Notes: The Weinberg vineyard in Deutsch Schützen really takes advantage of the Mediterranean climate hitting the Pannonian plain (cooler climate than northern Burgenland) and at a windy altitude that helps with the humidity that typically accumulates down in the valley. As the reserve would suggest, this more structured, denser, spicier and even darker in terms of earth and fruit. This is grippy and mineral Blaufränkisch that really sets it apart from other Austrian appellations. Spontaneously fermented in oak and then aged 12 months in 500L oak. Wild meats please.
