Pinot Noir Selection

Juris Pinot Noir Selection 2008

Juris, Burgenland (Austria)
Pinot Noir
Sorry, sold out
Our Notes: Located half way between Vienna and Budapest in the warm Pannonian climate with easily permeable soils of gravel, brown earth and sand, the Stiegelmar family has lived in Gols since 1571 and winemaking has always been a central occupation. While the 2009 vintage was low yielding and challenging, the fruit has a lean and sharp focus without being unripe. Medium weight, fresh acid, and dark spice are the immediate monikers, but as the wine opens up tertiary flavors come alive. Earthy dishes, gamey meats, and tomato based stews and sauces pair beautifully.
