Weinrieder Grüner Veltliner DAC 2009

Weinrieder, Weinviertel (Austria)
White (13%)
Grüner Veltliner
Sorry, sold out
Our Notes: Weinrieder is located in the center of the Weinviertel, one hour driving time north of Vienna on the way to the Moravian city of Brno in the Czech Republic. This is Austria's coolest wine region and Weinrieder takes advantage of that by producing exclusively white wines, all exhibiting a refreshing acidity and a pleasant fruity zing.
Check out his stunning Eisweins (ice wines) too. They are his speciality making him the Kaiser of Eiswein.

Both reviews below were written about the 2007 vintage. We are now offering the 2009 which is every bit as good if not better.

"A soft, rounded wine with lifted fresh, creamy apple and pear flavors over an intense layer of citrus. The ripeness of the fruit comes through the crispness to give a finely textured aftertaste." 86 points, Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast

89 points, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
