Our Notes: Special!

‘Ramato’ is an old Friulian word meaning ‘fermented on the skins’. With Pinot Gris this creates a copper like color that suggests a Rose more than an orange wine. Macerated for 10 days without temperature control in large oak vats with native yeast, it has the texture and aromas from the skins without a hint of oxidative or volotile notes. Ideal paired with seafood and strong enough for pungent flavors like truffles. Although according to the Batič family, “Dare to offer it without any food whatsoever”.

91 Points Wine & Spirits Magazinethe color is a rosé tawny, the grape flavors edging toward red as well, with a hint of cranberry and tangerine. This is austerely dry, a meaty, full-bodied, flinty white to serve with roast veal.
