Our Notes: Only a couple of bottles left!

Hárslevelü means “linden tree leaf,” and refers to the shape of the grape leaves. Typically pale straw with flecks of green, aromatically expressive and often a touch floral. Hárs (Harszh) as it is known for short, is the second most common component after Furmint in Hungary’s renowned Tokaji Aszú dessert wines, almost as susceptible to botrytis and adds a characteristic feminine charm. The 2011 vintage produced particularly delicate elderflower and lime tree blossom notes, but like the best of Tokaji, is full bodied, powerful, and maintains a strong mineral foundation. Tokaji’s persistant minerality could be described as earthy, yet this is in juxtaposition to ripe, even tropical fruit and its signature savory spiciness, making it a multi-dimensional taste experience. Patricius Hárslevelü makes a great replacement for richer Sauvignon or Chenin Blanc, pair with tarte flambées and whenever you want to highlight the sweet and spicy in chicken or pork.
