Blaufränkisch 2013

Sorry, sold out
Our Notes: Only a few bottles left! The J.Heinrich Blaufrankisch is the first released wine of the vintage and reflects the potential freshness of “Blaufränkischland.” Best enjoyed around cellar temperature, it’s juicy rather than jammy while quenching and thirst inducing. It retains that free run brightness without being overly one dimensional. Though a cuvée of vineyards that includes fruit from the youngest estate vines, it clearly displays the note of loam and wild spiciness characteristic of Blaufränkisch from this region. Pleasant enough alone, it is quite versatile with food. Try with most any fowl, savory mushroom dishes or something less expected like curried lamb.

90 Points and Top 100 Best Buys 2015 Wine Enthusiast Magazine: Ripe bramble and blackberry vie for attention on the nose. The palate is light and has lots of energy, verve and more fresh-faced fruit. This is just about medium-bodied and offers us an uncomplicated but delicious and refreshing interpretation of Blaufränkisch.
