Our Notes: Only a few bottles left! Believed to have originated in Greece, Sárga Muskotály has been planted in the volcanic soils of Tokaji for hundreds of years. In most cases, it’s been utilized as a blending agent for Tokaji Aszú and late harvest wines. Early budding and with fairly small berries, it’s ripening can often out pace the onset of Botrytis and is therefore perfect for dry and slightly off dry wines. Intensely floral, mineral sweet, and spicy on the palate, it also retains the smokiness of Tokaj. Fermented to just off dry, it’s acid driven enough for fatty foods and ideal for paprika laden soups and sweet and sour combinations. Fermented and aged in stainless steel, the 2013 vintage is crisp, weighty and delicious.
