Sorry, sold out
Our Notes: While both Eger and Szekszárd can both legally make Bikavér (Bulls Blood), the soil, climate and styles are dramatically different. Kékfrankos is the base of the blend and Kadarka adds the “paprika like” spice while the Bordeaux varieties are well suited to add weight, texture and aromatics. What sets Heimann apart from everybody is Sagrantino. Inspired by Umbrian wines, cuttings were brought back and they enjoy the loess and sunshine. A blend of 41% old vine Kékfrankos, 6% Kadarka, 22% Cabernet Franc, 22% Merlot and 10% Sagrantino, the 2013 is a successful balancing act between adhering to tradition while celebrating a much more connected wine world than the appellation has ever known.
