Our Notes: The stony and mostly infertile soils of Steinleithn require a later harvest than the rest of the other single vineyard sites. This longer hang time results is an incredibly elegant Grüner that allows for more nuanced savory flavors to come forward rather than the just white pepper and citrus common to the grape. Despite the late harvest, the acid is very much there and the residual sugar is nearly dry. When paired with Tafelspitz (boiled beef) and any kind of roasted foul, the fresh herb like aromatics and body of this wine really come alive. As with the rest of the Geyerhof whites, the more air the better and will last many days open.
